Discover the snow-covered charm of Madarao and Myoko on a full- or half-day snowshoeing adventure through the breathtaking winter landscapes of Japan’s satoyama (rural mountain villages). Explore serene trails and expansive snowy vistas in the heart of the yukiguni (snow country) region, with opportunities to visit picturesque lakes, frozen waterfalls, or even an abandoned ski resort.
Madarao offers numerous trails, including sections of the Shinetsu and Amatomi trails, which transform in winter into quiet, untouched paths through silent forests and open mountain views. Snowshoeing is the perfect way to immerse yourself in this magical environment, with panoramic sights of snow-draped peaks and peaceful valleys.
This tour is suitable for all skill levels, from first-timers to seasoned hikers. No prior experience is required, and all necessary equipment—snowshoes and poles—is included. Let our expert guides lead you on an unforgettable journey through one of Japan’s most enchanting winter destinations.
